Super easy, super tasty bread sauce! Perfect for the Christmas table...

- Peel the onion and split in half at the root. Stud each half with 10 cloves each. Melt half the butter in a large saucepan, pour in the milk, bring to a gentle simmer for 45/50 minutes or until the onions have gone completely soft
- Cut the loaf into chunks and pop into a food processor/blender and blitz into breadcrumbs.
- Once the onions are fully soft take them out of the pan and remove all the cloves (this is very important as you don't want to be biting on one of them). Finely chop the onions and add back into the milk and butter liquid.
- Now add the bread crumbs tablespoon at a time until all fully combined, you're looking for a thick mayonnaise consistency. Add the nutmeg and stir well. Finally add the remaining butter and season with salt and pepper, Serve warm with your turkey, chicken and ham.
